Banana Halwa: by Nandini Rao
Ingredients
8 Ripped bananas
2 ½ cup sugar
2 ½ sticks melt butter
1 tspn Ilachi powder
Time to make : 2 to 2 ½ hours
Method
Use long ladle and glove to protect your palms.
Peel banana skin, mash and add sugar. Mix.
Heat a non-stick kadayi, greece with 1 spoon of ghee.
Pour the mix of banana and sugar into kadayi, keep stirring and stirring. When you see the mix is hard add more ghee to make it volatile. Keep on stirring and continue to add little bit of ghee.
When you see the color of the mix start changing and the ghee evaporating into the mix, it means you re reaching the halwa consistency.
Transfer the halwa into a greased tray. Press gently. Let it rest until it reaches the room temperature.
Cut it into pieces. It is ready to eat.
