Cabbage Upkari : By Deepa Prabhu
Ingredients:
5 cups of finely chopped cabbage, ½ tsp mustard seeds, ¼ tsp haldi, ¼ tsp heeng, 1 Red chillie, 1 green chilli sliced, 7-8 curry leaves, ½ tsp udad dal, salt to taste, 1 tbsp oil (coconut oil preffered), 2 tbsp fresh grated coconut.
Preparation: Take oil in an open pan. When it is hot, add mustard seeds. Let it splutter and then add udad dal, heeng, red chilli, haldi, curry leaves and green chilli in the same order. Add washed cabbage and mix well. Add salt to taste, cover and cook for 5 mins or until water evaporates completely. Finally add grated coconut and turn off the heat.
Enjoy with Rice and rasam or chapatti.
