Pathrade panna muddo :by Vani Baliga
Ingredients:
Rice 1 1/2 cups
1/4 cup toordaal
Roasted red chilies 10-12
(Combination of byadgi and spicy )
Coconut 1/2 cup
Hing a pinch
15-20 pathrade leaves
Salt to taste
Banana leaves
Method:
Soak rice and daal for 2 hrs.
Grind red chilies, tamarind, coconut and hing to a fine paste. To this Add rice and daal and grind it to a coarse paste.
Wash and chop pathrade leaves roughly.
Mix masala and leaves and salt.
Grease banana leaves and keep a portion of this mix on the leaves.
Fold the banana leaves and steam it 18-20 minutes.
Allow it to cool and serve with drizzle of coconut oil.
